Pro Hac Vice Out-of-State Lawyer Search
A new feature has been added to the State Bar Membership Portal allowing members and the public to search out-of-state lawyers by name. This feature also allows you to view a list of the current and closed cases in which that attorney was admitted by Pro Hac Vice motion.
Go to www.mywvbar.org, click on Pro Hac Vice and then “Out-of-State Lawyer Directory Search.”

16th Judicial Circuit Vacancy
The Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission is currently receiving applications to fill the judicial vacancy on the 16th Judicial Circuit serving Marion County. Candidates must submit their completed applications by no later than 5:00 p.m. on November 17, 2015.  The deadline for submittal of letters of recommendation or comment is November 24, 2015.  Applications and instructions are available at www.governor.wv.gov.  For more information about the application process, please call Manda Bickoff at 304-558-2000.  Interviews will be held in Charleston on December 8, 2015.

For those who can only attend the dinner on April 3, the cost is $130.00.

Request for Public Comment on the Amendment to the Rules for Admission to the Practice of Law
The Court is requesting public comment on amendments to the Rules for Admission to the Practice of Law. The proposed amendment would permit the temporary practice of law in West Virginia by the attorney spouses of active service members assigned to a permanent duty station in West Virginia. The Court has approved a 60 day comment period to end on December 15, 2015. Any comments must be filed, in writing, with the WV Supreme Court Clerk’s Office.
