The State Bar’s Tuesday evening, 6-8:00 P.M. call in service, formerly known as the Lawyer Information Service, has a new name. The service, intended to provide quick information to members of the public on basic legal issues, is staffed by volunteer members of the State Bar. The service has been renamed Tuesday Legal Connect (aka: TLC) in recognition of the significantly increased number of attorney participants, the quality of the training provided to those participants, the use of Legal Aid of West Virginia’s multiple locations and state of the art phone system, and the coordination of participants throughout the State by the staff of Legal Aid of West Virginia. Pro Hac Vice Online Submission
The West Virginia State Bars Unlawful Practice of Law Committee is pleased to announce the new online system for Pro Hac Vice submissions. Starting February 18, 2014, all
The new system will allow payment of filing fees on line and will expedite the submission process significantly. Paper submissions will still be accepted, however, online submissions are encouraged.

Contract Attorneys for New View Project
The Court Improvement Program of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia will begin the New View Project, adapted from Georgia’s Cold Case Project, in early 2014. The deadline for receiving applications is March 21, 2014.
The Appalachian Institute of Digital Evidence (AIDE) is pleased to announce that Craig Ball will be the keynote speaker for its 2014 annual conference. Ball is a Board Certified trial lawyer, certified computer forensic examiner, law professor and electronic evidence expert. He has dedicated his career to teaching the bench and bar about forensic technology and trial tactics. Criminal Justice Act Panel Applications
The United States District Court for Southern District of West Virginia is currently accepting applications for appointment to the Criminal Justice Act Panel.
The West Virginia Public Defender Services is offering a series of presentations around the state on its Online Voucher System. These seminars will consist of a morning session of voucher training and an afternoon session of Ethics CLE. The details are: Lewisburg on March 11, 2014, at The State Fair of West Virginia’s WV Room; Clarksburg on March 13, 2014, at the Hilton Garden Inn Clarksburg; and Wheeling on March 18, 2014, at the West Virginia Northern Community College.
