BAR BLAST – March 3, 2015

WVU recently announced finalists for the next Dean of the College of Law. Over the next month, the five finalists will be interviewing at the university and meeting with members of the College of Law community.

As part of the interview process, the College of Law is hosting an open reception for members of the bar, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends to meet the final candidates. Please attend these receptions if you can. They will take place from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the College of Law lobby on the following dates:

March 5 – Gary Simson (coinciding with the PIA auction),

March 16 – Greg Bowman,  March 19 – Robert Ackerman,  March 31 – Beverly Moran.

 Magistrate Judge

The US District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia is accepting applications for a full-time US Magistrate Judge to serve the Clarksburg and Elkins points of holding court.   The term of office is eight years subject to reappointment. The full position description, and application forms may be obtained from the Clerk’s offices in Clarksburg, Elkins, Martinsburg, or Wheeling and on  http://www.wvnd.uscourts.gov/

Applications must be submitted personally or by certified mail and received by March 13, 2015.  Applicants must submit an original and ten copies of the application in an envelope marked “CONFIDENTIAL” to Cheryl Dean Riley, Clerk of Court, U.S. District Court, 1125 Chapline Street, P.O.
