2015 State Bar Annual Meeting 
April 17th & 18th

The State Bar is pleased to announce the 2015 Annual Meeting. The meeting will take place at Glade Springs in Daniels, WV on April 17 & 18th. 6 hours CLE, including 1 hour of ethics/law office management, will be offered. A banquet will be held April 17th recognizing 50 Year Members, State Bar Past Presidents, and Award winners.

Virginia Reciprocity
As a result of recent changes to the rules governing admission to practice law in Virginia, the West Virginia Board of Law Examiners and the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners have agreed to resume reciprocity admission for qualified applicants, effective immediately.  Additional information about Virginia’s admission requirements may be obtained athttp://barexam.virginia.gov/motion/motion.html

Making Money Talk – Effective Negotiations inMediation
Advanced Mediation Training

The ADR Committee will be sponsoring a negotiations training with Andy Little, a nationally recognized mediator and negotiations trainer, and author of the book MAKING MONEY TALK. This training will take place on July 14, 2015, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Bridgeport Conference Center and will qualify for 7.5 hours of CLE. Join us and learn how to more effectively utilize negotiations in mediation, whether you are a mediator or an advocate for your client. All registrants will receive a complimentary copy of Andy’s book as part of the registration process. Cost for the training is $150.00. Registration information will follow in future Bar Blasts. The Veterans and Military Affairs Committee invites you to SPIRIT OF THE MOUNTAINS 
Honoring Major General James A. Hoyer, The Adjutant General of West Virginia – SPIRIT OF THE MOUNTAINS will be held at the Governor’s Mansion on April 23, 2015 at 5:30 p.m.  General Hoyer is the 2015 recipient of the Lewis N. McManus YLA Service Award, presented annually to a person who demonstrates a life-long commitment to helping others, especially our state’s youth.  Spirit of the Mountains raises financial support for the Youth Leadership Association’s West Virginia youth programs including local youth leadership groups, Youth in Government Student Legislature and Supreme Court, 8th Grade Youth & Government Seminars, YLA Model United Nations, Camp Horseshoe’s teen Entrepreneurship and Leadership Summits and the Governor’s Youth Opportunity Camps for low income 7 – 12 year old boys and girls.  Individual tickets are $50.00 each.  Group purchases for event sponsors are also available.
