Video Competition
The West Virginia State Bar is sponsoring a middle and high school video competition titled
The Significance of the Magna Carta on its 800th Anniversary.
Students must apply to become contestants, with written parental permission, by Tuesday, December 15, 2015.

State Bar Medical Insurance Program

WV State Bar members currently insured by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield for health insurance are to receive premium notices form Highmark reflecting their new monthly premium effective January 1.
Attorneys desiring health insurance with Highmark, in accordance with the Affordable Care Act must enroll by
January 31, 2016.
Attorneys desiring to enroll with Highmark online may go to www.discoverhighmark.com or contact PEIA, at 304-344-5320 for assistance in enrolling.

Trial Court Administrator Job Opening 
Trial Court Administrator for the Kanawha County Circuit Court. Will work in concert with the Kanawha County Circuit Judges under the supervision of the Chief Circuit Judge with the State Court Administrator. Responsibilities are managerial in nature and include court service delivery, determining and meeting operational requirements, overseeing facilities, budgeting, purchasing, overseeing personnel and performing related work as required. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration or related field. Five years’ experience in administrative or supervisory role. Working familiarity with court rules, procedures, and administrative law. Must be technologically skilled to navigate and manage electronic-based court filing, case management and time management systems. Salary commensurate with experience. Candidates must pass a criminal background check.
Closing date is December 16, 2015.

West Virginia Fund for Law in the Public Interest 
In this season of giving, please consider making a donation to the West Virginia Fund for Law in the Public Interest (WVFLIPI).  Since 1987, the “Fund” has been raising money to place WVU College of Law students in summer fellowships with public interest organizations throughout West Virginia.
All donations to WVFLIPI are tax deductible and will be acknowledged in writing.

The 2016 Annual Conference and Meeting of the West Virginia State Bar
The West Virginia State Bar’s Annual Conference and Meeting is the ideal venue to reconnect with lawyers and friends – and to build new relationships – all while enjoying the amenities of West Virginia’s premier resort, the Greenbrier. Recent Supreme Court Orders

In RE: Approval of Amendments to the West Virginia Rules of Juvenile Procedure. 
By order entered November 25, 2015, the Court approved amendments to the West Virginia Rules of Juvenile Procedure, effective January 1, 2016.

In RE: Notice of Correction to Rule 21 of the WV Rules of Juvenile Procedure. 
By order entered December 4, 2015, the Court approved corrections to the West Virginia Rules of Juvenile Procedure, effective January 1, 2016.
