At its meeting of January 11, 2013, The West Virginia State Bar Board of Governors approved a $20 fee for reporting CLE credit hours submitted for any program which has not received prior approval from the MCLE Commission.  The filing fee will become effective for all non-approved hours submitted on or after March 18.  Click here to view a copy of the form.  If you have questions, contact compliance@wvbar.org atcompliance@wvbar.org or 304-553-7238.

The ABA Task Force on Gatekeeper Regulation and the Profession has worked with other entities to develop voluntary good practices guidance for lawyers to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.  The Task Force has concerns about how mandatory gatekeeper provisions might affect confidential attorney-client relationships and other issues.  Below are two publications from the ABA Task Force:
