Judicial Appointment to the Court of Claims
The West Virginia State Bar is seeking candidates for the position of Judge of the Court of Claims. If interested, provide a resume to the State Bar on or before December 31, 2012.
The Court Improvement Program of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia will begin the New View Project, adapted from Georgia’s Cold Case Project, in early 2013. Attorneys with demonstrated dedication to child abuse and neglect and/or juvenile cases are encouraged to apply to be contract reviewers, or “viewers,” to look anew at cases to make recommendations for helping children in out-of-home care reach permanency.
The Supreme Court of Appeals is requesting comment on Amendments to Rule 43 of the West Virginia Rules of Civil Procedure and Rule 56 of the Rules of Practice and Procedure for Family Court, addressing the payment of compensation to interpreters as provided by law. Comments may be filed in writing with the Clerk of the Court by December 28, 2012. Click here for the amendments.
