The Court has issued an order requesting comment on Amendments to Rule 43 of the West Virginia Rules of Civil Procedure and Rule 56 of the Rules of Practice and Procedure for Family Court.  The comment period will end on December 28, 2012. Click here for Amendments to rule 43.

Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation Board of Trustees

The West Virginia State Bar’s Board of Governors received letters of interest from an extraordinarily qualified set of applicants for nomination to The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation’s Nominating Committee.   The State Bar is pleased to announce that the names of the following individuals were submitted for consideration to the Foundation’s Nominating Committee:  Robby J. WV Health Care Authority

The WV Executive Branch recently updated its HIPAA Preemption analysis, which may be found here.  There is also a summary and flow chart explaining the mechanics of HIPAA preemption.   While it is produced annually to support the Executive Branch’s internal privacy compliance, it may be useful to others and serves as a database of all health information laws in WV.  Any questions may be directed to Sallie Milam, WV’s Chief Privacy Officer, at 304.558.7000 orsmilam@hcawv.org.
