Secretary of State Natalie Tennant Asks for Update to Notary Law

The Interim Commission on Interstate Cooperation will consider adopting the Uniform Law Commission’s (ULC) Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts (RULONA) in a meeting set for Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Senate Finance Committee Room (Capitol 451-M).

 The United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit is accepting applications for the position of Federal Public Defender for the Southern District of West Virginia.
Applications must be completed and received no later than December 3, 2013.

Vacancy in the 26th Family Court Circuit, Putnam County

 The Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission is currently receiving applications to fill the family law judge vacancy for the 26th Family Court Circuit serving Putnam County.   Candidates must submit their completed applications by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2013. Interviews will be scheduled for and held on Monday, December 16, 2013.

All titles are ten to twelve years out of date. Establishment of Unified Electronic Filing SystemRequest for Comments on Proposed Amendments to the West Virginia Trial Court Rules, Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Criminal Procedure –

On October 29, 2013, Matt Arrowood, Director of Circuit Clerk Services, presented proposed amendments to the West Virginia Trial Court Rules, West Virginia Rules of Civil Procedure, and Rules of Criminal Procedure, all to establish the Unified Electronic Filing System.
The Court did provisionally approve said amendments, as well as a period of public comment on the proposed amendments. Additions are indicated by underlining. Comments may be filed in writing with the Clerk of this Court on or before

December 30, 2013.

Request for Public CommentRequest for public comment on the Proposed Amendments to the Rules of Procedure for Child Abuse and Neglect Proceedings, the Guidelines for Children’s Guardians Ad Litem in Child Abuse and Neglect Proceedings, and the required form Guardian Ad Litem Report.

By order entered October 15, 2013, the Court approved a period of public comment on proposed amendments to the Rules of Procedure for Child Abuse and Neglect Proceedings, the Guidelines for Children’s Guardians Ad Litem in Child Abuse and Neglect Proceedings, and a required form Guardian Ad Litem Report. Comments may be filed, in writing, with the Clerk of Court, on or before January 13, 2014.
