The State Bar’s Legal Outreach Committee wishes to recognize the ABA Free Legal Answers 2018 Pro Bono Leaders. On January 24, 2019 the ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service, awarded Dawn White of Berkeley Springs, WV and Nigel Jeffries of Charleston, WV as ABA Free Legal Answers 2018 Pro Bono Leaders.
The Committee presents this annual recognition to individual attorneys, law firms, and law departments tha have provided extraordinary pro bono services through West Virginia Free Legal Answers. Both attorneys each individually answered more than 100 civil legal questions in the 2018 calendar year. Through their exceptional pro bono assistance they are helping ensure that the low income community is receiving the legal help they need.

Call for Judges: 2019 National Energy and Sustainability Moot Court
The National Energy and Sustainability Moot Court Competition, hosted March 7-9 by WVU Law, is seeking volunteer judges. Early round judges must be attorneys of good standing licensed to practice law in any state. Final round (March 9, afternoon) judges must be a federal or state appellate judge. Now in its ninth year, the National Energy and Sustainability Moot Court Competition attracts exceptional law students from across the country. A record 29 teams are signed up to compete this year.
