Nature of WorkDepartment of Health and Human Resources (DHHR)/ Office of the Inspector General (OIG)/ Office of Health Facility Licensure and Certification, Kanawha County – Under the direction of the Office of the Inspector General’s OHFLAC Director and General Counsel, this position will research various topics and regulations related to health care facilities. Will review FOIA requests, redact responses accordingly, and review responsive documents for exclusions and confidential information. Prepare pleadings while working in conjuction with the Attorney General’s Office. Review subpoenas for various document types and redact for personal, health and other confidential information and material. Will review office policies, procedures, forms, and applications to provide input and compliance with laws and regulations. Communicate with outside counsel and facilities regarding inspection processes, and questions related to licensure procedures and processes. Communicate with program managers and health facility and other inspectors regarding inspection processes, interpretation questions, and other inspection and regulation issues. May do research for any office located within the Office of Inspector General. Other duties as required.
Minimum QualificationsTraining: Admission to the West Virginia State Bar.
Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in the practice of law.
Substitution: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment as an attorney with the agency to which assigned shall be considered the equivalent of two years of experience.
