Description
West Virginia University College of Law is current accepting positions for a Career Services Program Director . The Program Director will report to the Director of the Meredith Center of Career Services and Professional Development (CSPD) and will work to carry out the mission of the CSPD at the WVU College of Law. They will provide individual career strategy and coaching sessions, organize and conduct group programming and workshops to facilitate student development of job search strategies; and be a vital part of the comprehensive career services programming for approximately 330 law students.

Wellness programs
What you’ll do:

Assist director in conducting research, promoting and advising students regarding all types of summer clerkship and post-graduate career opportunities.
Provide one-on-one career coaching to currently enrolled students and alumni on topics including career planning, career goals, career options and opportunities; application material review and revision; and production of job-search related materials.
Provide one-on-one and group training on various job search strategies.
Coordinate twice annual On-Campus Interviewing (OCI) programs spanning 2-3 weeks each and attended by 15-20 prospective employers.
Oversee job postings, online resume collections, and facilitation of off-site and/or video OCI, as needed.
Serve as a vital external relations liaison through coordination of OCI.
Maintain contact with current and potential employers, members of the Bar, the judiciary to expand employment opportunities for students.
Assist Director in design and implementation of professional skills programs to prepare students for employment. Professional skills programs may include career services orientation, mock interviewing, networking, professional etiquette, appropriate attire, internet/social media presence, and other related programs as needed in 21st century legal workplace.
Develop and implement tools to evaluate satisfaction of various constituent groups with CSPD, including OCI support, summer employment status, and desired field of practice. Utilize statistical methods to gauge the significance of results and feedback.
Analyze survey feedback to provide input to CSPD’s strategic planning process, particularly with respect to employer outreach and employer education.
Conduct employer/law firm/corporate outreach through attendance at various College of Law and professional meetings and events for the purpose of establishing and maintaining possible employment, alumni, and development relationships for the CSPD.
Serve on College of Law committees at discretion of William J. Maier, Jr. Dean of the College of Law.
Coordinate with attorneys and other external partners to assist with development of career services programming.

Qualifications
J.D. Preferred, or masters degree in related field (Masters of Business Administration, Counseling, Student Services, Public Administration)
3-5 years public sector law practice or private sector law practice or public interest law practice or student advising or legal recruiting or any combination of the above
Leadership/management skills to independently implement and oversee multiple CSPD events with minimal supervision
Ability to conduct one-on-one and group career coaching sessions, including sensitivity to interests of students and employers with wide-ranging credentials
Superior written and oral communication
Strong computer skills
