HEARING EXAMINER SERVICES
The West Virginia Consolidated Public Retirement Board (CPRB) is currently seeking applicants for a contract position of Hearing Examiner. The position is required to hold hearings in accordance with the applicable West Virginia statutes and rules, including the Administrative Procedures Act, and to timely prepare a recommended decision in the format required by the CPRB. Applicant is also required to attend Board meetings to explain their decisions and answer questions. The applicant must be licensed to practice law in the State of West Virginia and be in good standing with the West Virginia State Bar. The applicant should be familiar with applicable federal law and West Virginia case law and Code provision concerning the ten (10) governmental pension plans administered by the CPRB. The applicant should have at least five (5) years of experience as a hearing examiner, hearing officer, administrative law judge or in the practice of administrative law. It is highly desired that the applicant not be a member or retiree of any of the plans administered by the CPRB.
