Assistant Attorney General / Division of Personnel and Miscellaneous Agencies: The Office of the West Virginia Attorney General is seeking a full-time attorney to join its Arts and Education Division to represent the West Virginia Division of Personnel and other miscellaneous state agencies as required. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of five (5) years of litigation experience. Candidates will primarily be responsible for litigating matters in administrative forums and state circuit courts, with appellate work before the West Virginia Intermediate Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Appeals. Responsibilities will include litigation representation and general counsel and advice.
Strong written and oral advocacy skills are required. The candidate must be comfortable practicing independently with limited clerical support. Knowledge or experience in state personnel law is preferred but not required.
Candidates must have an active West Virginia law license.
