· Represent and advise clients in a way that best supports their legal situation.
· Set legal strategy and provide clients with substantive legal advice.
· Create “strategic plan” for each matter move cases from milestone to milestone.
· Conduct initial client meetings.
· Provide competent provision of legal services including: legal research; drafting complex motions, pleadings, orders, memos, case outlines, and overseeing and analyzing discovery.
· The Family Law Litigation Attorney may delegate to Law Clerks, Paralegals and Legal Assistants to accomplish drafting of legal documents, but the Family Law Litigation Attorney will remain responsible for ensuring the timely and professional completion of the work.
· Review and approve all legal documents before finalization and filing by support staff.
· Communicate with witnesses and gather evidence.
· Communicate and work with Law Clerks, Paralegals, Legal Assistants, and other support staff in the firm which are assigned tasks associated with cases which you are appointed.
· Prepare cases and clients for depositions, mediations/settlement conferences, hearings, trials, and any other events associated with cases.
· Advocate for clients at mediations/settlement conferences, depositions, hearings, and trials.
· Attend case status meetings and take necessary actions
· Meet all court ordered deadlines
· Record time entries appropriately as billable or non-billable with correct activity codes in the case management system along on a daily basis.
