The Kanawha County Prosecutor’s Office seeks candidates for the immediate hire of an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for its Juvenile Section, to handle Juvenile Abuse and Neglect, Juvenile Delinquency, and Juvenile Status Offense cases in a Division of the Kanawha County Circuit Court. Preference will be given to candidates with experience as a prosecutor or guardian ad litem. This position is available immediately and will remain open until filled.
Must be mentally strong, professionally skilled, and morally driven.
Requirements
• Active License to Practice Law in the State Courts of West Virginia
• Clear Background Check
• Clear Drug Screen
• Superior Time, Caseload, and support staff Management Ability
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Products, Case Management Software
• Proficiency in West Virginia E-Filing and CourtPlus
• Must be a Team Player
• Must be able to function effectively in this high-volume, dynamic situation
Responsibilities
• Prepare Juvenile Abuse and Neglect Petitions
• Representation of the Department in Juvenile Abuse and Neglect Cases and
• Representation of the State in Juvenile Delinquency and Status Offense Cases
• Periodic “On Call” Duty
