The Public Defender Corporation for the First Judicial Circuit of West Virginia has an immediate opening for the position of Assistant Public Defender in the Corporation’s Wheeling and Weirton locations. This is a courtroom-intensive litigation role perfect for attorneys who want to sharpen their trial skills, build extensive litigation experience, and champion constitutional rights while making a meaningful impact in the community.
In this role, you will represent clients at both the trial court and appellate stages across a diverse and meaningful range of proceedings: misdemeanor and felony defense, extradition proceedings; probation and parole revocations, juvenile, and abuse/neglect.
