Jack Bowman – Lunch and Laughs

September 11, 2014 By

JACK BOWMAN-LUNCH AND LAUGHS-OCTOBER 17-MORGANTOWN
The Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors is very pleased that Forest “Jack” Bowman, Professor Emeritus of the WVU College of Law, will be the honored guest during the 4th Annual Lunch and Laughs With a Legal Legend on Friday, October 17, 2014, at the Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown, beginning at 11:30 AM.

Professor Bowman’s legendary career as a lawyer includes positions in state government and additional public service as the first administrator of the WV Supreme Court of Appeals and several years as the WV State Bar Executive Director. Then, he taught thousands of law students at the College of Law on the topics of wills and trusts, professional responsibility, contracts and law practice management. He was selected as Professor of the Year on several occasions by the students and has made top rated legal and educational presentations to groups across the nation.

Previous legal legends, who have participated in these “friendly roasts”, have been former WVU President and current Professor of Law David Hardesty, WVU College of Law Dean Emeritus John Fisher and U.S. District Court Judge Irene Keeley. The honorees designate a worthwhile charity to receive net proceeds from the Lunch and Laughs event with more than $33,000 having been distributed in the first three years. Professor Bowman has selected student scholarships at the WVU College of Law to receive this year’s funds.

Sponsorships of $2,000 provide a reserved table with 10 seats. Individual tickets can be purchased for $60. A majority of the amount is tax deductible. Please contact the Bar Foundation to make reservations— tom@wvbarfoundation.org
