The Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia entered an Order, on December 30, 2019, Approving and Adopting the Revisions to the Governance Documents of the West Virginia State Bar – West Virginia State Bar Constitution, West Virginia State Bar Bylaws, West Virginia State Bar Administrative Rules, and Definition of the Practice of Law
During the next few months, The State Bar will hold several short informational seminars to familiarize members with the revised Bylaws.
Interest Rate for 2020
The Administrative Office of The Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia has set the interest rate at 4.75 percent for judgments and decrees entered during the 2020 calendar year.
The State Bar is in need of volunteer attorneys on Tuesday evenings, in January 2020, to field legal questions from the public as part of the “Tuesday Legal Connect” program. Volunteers will work out of the Legal Aid of WV office located at 301 W. Burke St., Suite B, Martinsburg, WV from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Dinner is provided.
