rd Judicial Circuit Vacancy
The Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission is currently receiving applications to fill the judicial vacancies on the 18th Judicial Circuit Court serving Preston County and the 23rd Judicial Circuit Court serving Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan Counties. Candidates must submit their completed applications by no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 24, 2018.  The deadline for submittal of letters of recommendation or comment is January 31, 2018. Applications and instructions are available at www.governor.wv.gov. For more information about the application process, please call Manda Bickoff at 304-558-2000.  Interviews will be held in Charleston on Thursday, February 15, 2018 and Friday, February 16, 2018, if necessary.

APPOINTMENT OF A FULL-TIME UNITED STATES MAGISTRATE JUDGE
The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia is accepting applications for a full-time U.S. Magistrate Judge to serve the Wheeling point of holding court.  The term of office is eight years, subject to reappointment. The full position description and application form may be obtained from the Clerk’s offices in Clarksburg, Elkins, Martinsburg, or Wheeling and on the court’s website here. Applications must be submitted personally or by certified mail and received by January 12, 2018.
Applicants must submit an original and ten copies of the application in an envelope marked “CONFIDENTIAL” to Cheryl Dean Riley, Clerk of Court, U.S. District Court,

Request for Public Comment
The  United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia has provisionally approved amendments
 to  its  Local  Rules  and  has  posted  them  for comment on its website (www.wvnd.uscourts.gov)  and in paper form at each point of holding court in Clarksburg,
 Elkins,  Martinsburg,  and Wheeling.
Public comments on the proposed Local Rule amendments may be submitted to the Office of the Clerk, P.O. Box 471, Wheeling, WV 26003, until January 12, 2018
